Welcome to the SMCA

The South Metropolitan Cricket Association fosters cricket in suburbs south of the Swan River.

From Fremantle to Cannington, to Armadale, Serpentine and across to Kwinana, there are currently 23 Clubs affiliated with the SMCA as well as an Umpires Association.

Message From P&D

The P&D panel expressed disappointment that incidents between players and umpires are arising on an all too frequent basis and all Clubs must address player behaviour, particularly in regard to the principle that abuse of umpires will not be tolerated. It is also beholding on Clubs to ensure that players acting as umpires undertake their duties in a diligent manner and provide fair and reasonable decisions.

Marking For Field Restrictions

In the first two one day games of the season, a lot of grounds were not marked with the field restriction markings. The restriction area shall be in a circle 27.43 metres from the stumps at each end. The ends of each semi-circle are joined to the other end on the same side of the pitch by a straight line drawn on the field. It is compulsory to have these markings in all one day matches played in the two day grades.
