To our Member Clubs,
In line with the State Government's move to the 'High Caseload' settings, (and new close contact, testing and isolation protocols) the SMCA Committee has updated the Covid-19 Policy to reflect these changes. We have also taken the opportunity to further clarify the Finals qualification guidelines and expand the criteria in which a game may be abandoned, and average winning points awarded to both teams. Saliva and sweat from any part of the body is now prohibited, so that has been included in this version.
All changes from the previous version are highlighted in bold italics, so that they can be easily picked up. I highly recommend that everyone reads through it again carefully.
The Committee has tried to make this policy as easy to read and understand as possible, but, if in doubt please get in touch with us. This policy has served us all well so far, and hopefully it will continue to do so.
With regards to the remainder of the season, the Committee has determined that we will continue as fixtured for the time being. We have contingency plans in place should the environment change, and these will be communicated to the Clubs if and when necessary.
Cheers,
Paul Speering
