2016

Cricket West Vets Finals goes to final over.

A great team effort by the SMCA Vets was not quite enough to secure a win in the final on Sunday.

SMCA batted first and Noel Raymond was a major contributor with 35 runs. Others chipped in with Craig Rourke 16 and Tim Edgar and Darrin Usher making 11. We finished with 8/110 of the 20 overs.

The match went down to the last over, with PCA requiring 2 runs to win. Craig Rourke took a wicket off the first ball, but PCA got the 2 runs required to win a very tight contest. Captain Will Badger was the pick of the bowlers with 3/8 off his four overs. Shane Watkins took 2/17.

SMCA player Steve Brodribb was named player of the series.

The SMCA Executive would like to thank all players and officials who were involved with Seniors, Colts and Vets during the competition.
