Mr Geere was charged with a level 2 Offence- Unnecessary, intentional and inappropriate physical contact to an opposition player.

Tribunal notes:

Mr King opened proceedings at 7pm and read out the offence. Mr Geere pleaded guilty to the offence. The umpire read to his statement of the events that resulted in Mr Geere being reported. It was noted that there was sledging occurring during the match. Mr Geere read out his prepared statement of the events as he recalled them. Mr Geere apologised to the SMCA, his club and all involved. Character references were provided by David Morris, Kim McDonald, Daniel Campo and Dave Clark. Brett Kearney supported Mr Geere's statement. Mr Geere, his advocates and the umpires then left the room. The panel then discussed the events.

Penalty:

Mr King reiterated that intentional physical contact with another player regardless of the situation will not be tolerated. Taking into account Mr Geere's plea of guilty and his good character, he was given an eight (8) playing day suspension with two (2) weeks suspended until 1 April 2022. A $100 fine (suspended) was imposed on Kwinana CC.
