Roleystone Karragullen (RKCC) submitted a complaint about Mr Petrone making inappropriate comments to a minor in the ODB match between RKCC and Kwinana played on 21 January 2023. Level 3 - Vilification of a major nature - Making inappropriate comments to a minor.

Tribunal notes:

The panel members questioned the two RKCC players about the incident in the match between Kwinana and RKCC. Written statements were provided including one from the junior player. Clarification of the content of the statements and the events during the match were sought and answered. The RKCC players and their advocate then left the proceedings. Mr Petrone and his advocate then appeared before the panel. Mr Petrone was advised of the 'charge' and pleaded not guilty. He then gave his version of the events. Statements from Kwinana players were provided to the panel. Mr Petrone's advocate also provided a verbal statement. Mr King reiterated the player behaviour requirements and referred to recent SMCA special general meeting. The panel then considered and deliberated on the provided statements and the verbal version of the events presented.

Penalty:

After consideration, the panel determined that Mr Petrone was guilty of a Level 2 offence - Intimidation of a player. Mr Petrone was given an eight playing days suspension. As Mr Petrone has a six playing days suspended suspension carry over from 9 November 2021. Mr Petrone is suspended for a total of 14 playing days.
