Mr Kamalpreet Anand (Player ID: 2187930) has been playing for Kwinana under the name of Kamaldeep Singh (Player ID: 2396424), contrary to SMCA By-Law 46.

Tribunal notes:

Kwinana put in a clearance request for Kamalpreet Anand and before Curtin Victoria Park responded they transferred him to the club. The clearance was denied by Curtin Victoria Park. Kamalpreet played the first three games for Kwinana without a clearance. This being a breach of the SMCA By laws. Kamalpreet then played for Curtin Victoria Park legitimately. On the 4/2/2023 he played under the name of Kamaldeep Singh for Kwinana. On the 11/02/2023 he was recognised by an opposition club and Frogbox vision of him playing for Curtin Victoria Park in the 7th Grade One Day Grand Final. On the 25/02/2023 a SMCA representative went to Kwinana to investigate and ask for photo ID. Kamalapreet wasunable to produce it and was told he had to. The next morning he submitted a statement admitting his guilt. Kwinana Cricket Club are investigating the circumstances and will be formally written to about this matter.

Penalty:

D Morris as team captain is suspended for six playing days under Bylaw 46 e - a club playing a player under a false name. This penalty was suspended until the end of season 23/24. Mr K Anand suspended for a total 16 playing days (12 days for playing under a false name and 4 days for playing without a clearance) effective immediately. Kwinana CC to forfeit all match points gained on 11 Feb 23 and be fined IAW Bylaws 46 de and e and Kwinana ODB team to forfeit match points for match played 25 Feb 23 IAW with Bylaws 46 d and e.
