Pitch and Ground Markings

It was noted at the SMCA Executive meeting on 5 December that some grounds do not have pitch or ground markings up to the required standard.

The popping crease lines to be extended and permanently marked two metres wider than the pitch on both sides, where possible.

Any club not providing adequate pitch or ground markings may be fined, disqualified or dealt with as the Executive may deem necessary.

Team Lists

The SMCA Executive has noted some teams are not providing a paper team list to the opposition captain and cite that the team is entered in mycricket. The Bylaws require a paper team list to be exchanged prior to the toss.

13a. Each Captain shall hand a team list to the Umpire, or opposing Captain, prior to the toss on the first days play. The scorers must sit together and check that scores match constantly. The scorebooks must be checked and signed by both Captains and Umpire/s, at the completion of each innings and each day’s play. Team captains are to ensure that the scorebook details are completed prior to the umpires signing.

It is required that if one team uses live scoring the other team shall use a scorebook.

Online Scoring - First and Second Grade

By-Law 13e. Online scoring for First and Second Grade teams is required. The home team is responsible for the implementation of online scoring.
