Helmets - Further Update

The SMCA Executive has become aware of clubs not complying with the helmet policy. Some clubs claim to not know about the rule although it was voted on at the AGM, is part of the By-Laws, included in the Information to Clubs and has been displayed on the web site for some time.

At the SMCA Executive meeting on 17 October it was confirmed that a match must not proceed if a required player is not wearing a helmet. Should a required player refuse to wear a helmet the Match Day Referee is to be called - Graeme Ashley, phone 0419 916 714.  The Match Day Referee has the authority to call a forfeit if he deems it necessary. This is applicable to both teams where a match has proceeded contrary to By-Law 53.
