Changes for the coming season
by Gary Hartman
One-day matches for First to Seventh Grade and ODA to ODD are now 40 overs per innings with the match ending once a result has been achieved. The remaining one-day grades, ODE to ODH, remain 35 over per innings one-day matches and play continues until stumps.
By-Law 26h now allows for 12 players to be selected in One-Day Grades. Only 11 players are allowed on the field at any one time. Only 11 players are allowed to bat. All the 12 nominated players may bowl.
If captains agree, an old good quality Kookaburra Tuff Pitch ball, Kookaburra Crown or a Kookaburra Practice Ball may be used in the third or fourth innings of the match. In 35 over one-day matches the fielding team has the option of using a two-piece Red Kookaburra Crown 156g ball.
Any appeal to the decision of the Administrator (fine/penalty/suspension as per By-Law 69) as well as any appeal to the decision of the Protests and Disputes Tribunal must now be submitted by email to the Review Committee through the SMCA Administrator. See By-Law 66 and 67 for full details. The Review Committee is made up of 3 Life Members of the SMCA.
